Weylandts DC Extension & Upgrade

The extension and upgrade to Weylandts Distribution Centre in the industrial area of Epping 2 in Cape Town provided additional high-volume warehouse space for the rapidly expanding furniture and homeware store. A new office, meeting room, staff amenities and photographic room were also included in the project scope. 

Aligning with the company’s brand emphasis on design, as well as drawing from its industrial context, the completed project creates a cohesive composition of forms that together motivate a sense of public address to the street. This is achieved through the use of a limited palette of materials, colours and textures and the introduction of planted green courtyards provides places of sanctuary in the otherwise built-up urban environment.
